Welcome to our 10th episode! We’ve officially hit the big 1 0!! And as we enter into the world of double digit episodes we bring to you a very interesting episode filled with lots of stories about us, questions that we ponder, and weird future predictions feelings (which obviously means lots of weirdness 🙂 ).

We start off with a little anecdote of one of my morning commutes to work in Baltimore and how I am confronted with a blockade of crime scene tape. This was a very scary experience that taught me three things: shootings can happen in the route the I walk to my work building (which I kind of knew in the back of my mind but liked to believe the campus was slightly more safe), I sometimes get feelings that end up coming true, and that I needed to sign up for the campus alerts on my phone (what am I, in the Stone Age?). Better late than never, right? Well, in this case, 2 years late is better than never. So I may have kind of stalker-ed a lady by following her in attempts to get to work (I mean she seemed to know another way to my destination).

This leads us into pondering the way that different ride-sharing services got their names. Why is Lyft or Uber named what they are? Lyft is Ly featuring (ft) the car you are driving. Uber was a little more difficult to deduce, but we were able to figure out that as well: U. B. R… you be our customer! (You never would have thought about it that way would you?). To hear our full though process, listen to Episode 10.

Among our stories you get to hear about an almost (not-really) break in attempt, a crazy masked gunman who frequented the park in our childhood, and the first day of preschool. We also ponder a range of topics including creating a plan for break-ins and the true meaning of acronyms like ADT, Uber, and Lyft. We discuss what had all the makings of a break-in attempt, but was probably just something getting jammed into the keyhole. This led us figuring out what we would do if we ever found ourselves in this type of situation (I mean you have to be prepared for anything right?). So while I would like to think that I would be super-ninja like and do some really cool and witty things like they show in movies, I would probably not (because hello this is the girl that grabbed a towel off the banister as she fell down the stairs when she was little). This also brings up the importance of security… and one of the companies that provide security. What does the acronym ADT stand for? (NOTE: I looked this up and it actually stands for American District Telegraph Company). If you would like to hear our explanation of what we think it would stand for, check out Episode 10!

We also look at a report by the Institute for Economics and Peace where 163 countries were ranked by 23 factors for the most peaceful countries in 2018. Where does your country rank, and did your country make it into the top 10? To find out more about different countries rankings you can read the full article. Note: The United States is not really in a ranking to be proud of…

And if we are talking about the safest countries, we must then talk about the most dangerous countries (and cities in the US). Listen to the full episode 10 to here our in-depth discussion (you might be surprised by the results). Or read the Atlasandboots article and this article by Road Snacks. If danger is not your thing and you would rather look at the more safer side, check out this article by HomeSnacks.com to see the top safest states in the United States (does your state make the Top 10?).

We wrap up by delving into what our evil alter-egos would do by taking the PlayBuzz quiz “Which crime would you most likely commit?” Would we be big time criminals and commit something like arson, or would we be in the little leagues by doing something like petty thief? Listen to episode 10 to hear about our results! And let us know in the comments what your results are.
